CALGARY - Joe Thornton's first goal of this year's NHL playoffs was a big one.
Thornton scored the winner with just 9.4 seconds left in regulation in the San Jose Sharks' 3-2 win over the Calgary Flames on Tuesday.
The best-of-seven Western Conference quarterfinal series is deadlocked at 2-2 heading into Thursday's Game 5 in San Jose.

SAN JOSE, Calif. - Evgeni Nabokov made sure the Sharks left San Jose with something to show for all those shots in their first two playoff games.
Nabokov made 21 saves in his sixth career post-season shutout, and rookie Torrey Mitchell scored a power-play goal in the Sharks' 2-0 victory over the Calgary Flames on Thursday night, evening their first-round series at a game apiece.
Game 3 is in Calgary on Sunday. San Jose was the NHL's best road team this season.

(Sports Network) - The second-seeded San Jose Sharks will try to even up the best-of-seven Western Conference quarterfinals tonight, when they host the Calgary Flames for Game 2 at HP Pavilion.
The seventh-seeded Flames jumped out to a strong start in the series, as they posted a 3-2 decision in Game 1 to put the pressure on San Jose, champions of the Pacific Division.
Stephane Yelle scored twice and Miikka Kiprusoff turned in an inspired performance in goal as the Flames edged the Sharks.

This year’s Pacific Division race will be tight as three teams will be fighting for the title. Right now, the San Jose Sharks have the edge on the Anaheim Ducks and the Dallas Stars.
Through yesterday’s games, San Jose held a three-point lead on Anaheim and is four ahead of Dallas.
If San Jose can win in Los Angeles on Tuesday night, Team Teal would sit five points up on second place Anaheim and would close to within five points of Detroit for first overall in the NHL.
