After all their recent playoff failures, the Dallas Stars certainly got a lot more than they hoped in the first two games against Anaheim.
"We just wanted to come in and steal one," captain Brenden Morrow said. "And we got Game 1 out of the way and then we wanted to get greedy and steal two. We were fortunate."

ANAHEIM, Calif. - Mike Modano and Brad Richards scored 55 seconds apart in the third period to lift the Dallas Stars to a 5-2 victory over the Anaheim Ducks on Saturday night and give them a 2-0 series lead over the defending Stanley Cup champions.
Modano scored on a slapshot from the blueline during a power play at 5:47. Shortly afterward, Richards wristed a shot from the right circle betweenJean-Sebastien Giguere's pads.

ANAHEIM, Calif. - Marty Turco put on an acrobatic show in goal and the Dallas Stars' power play provided more than enough offence to put the defending Stanley Cup Champions in an early playoff hole.
Turco earned his fourth career post-season shutout and Dallas defeated the Anaheim Ducks 4-0 in Game 1 of their first-round playoff series Thursday night.
Game 2 is Saturday night in Anaheim.

It is entirely fitting and a testament to the extraordinary impact that Stars center Mike Modano has had on the sports scene here in Dallas - and the entire state of Texas - that he became the first hockey player ever inducted into the Texas Sports Hall of Fame Tuesday night.
