Stream Help
Before you start with the troubleshooting tips in this guide, make sure you have Flash Player 11 installed.

IMPORTANT NOTICE BEFORE YOU BEGIN:

If you are using Adblock, or any similar extensions; disable it. There are no ads on our website; all it does is cause the Flash DVR feeds to be choppy.

My stream won't load! (Endless spinning circle)

When you see the endless spinning circle, it means one of two things:
  • The stream isn't live yet (this is usually the case if you are trying to play a stream before the start time listed on the website)
  • Your security token being sent to the server isn't being read correctly, You can either try to change your account password to try and fix it, or simply generate an ip exception and refresh the page

Help! My stream keeps stopping!!

There are multiple reasons for why you may be constantly buffering. The biggest reason would be that your download speed is not sufficient to stream the feed you are attempting to watch. You need at least 4Mbps for a high quality (HD) feed, and at least 1Mbps for the Low quality (SD) feed. You can go do a speedtest to find your internet speed.

Disable ADBLOCK, or any similar extensions that are used to block scripts on a page. We do not have ads, it interfers with the player.

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR TEKSAVVY INTERNET USERS: We have added a server location for Teksavvy users, in the drop down on the top right - make sure you are connecting to "North America - East Canada".

Why is my stream so choppy?

Your stream is choppy usually due to your browser taking up too many resources. Some things you can try in order to get a smooth, 60 FPS stream are:
  • Try changing browsers, whether you are using Google Chrome, Firefox, or Internet Explorer, try changing to a different browser to see if it improves, 99.9% of the time it will.
  • If you are using an older computer, or a computer that's not very powerful - it may have issues decoding a 720p 60 Frame per second stream, the best option would be to use PotPlayer. PotPlayer makes use of your Graphics Card to reduce the strain on your processor.
  • Disable all anti-virus scans, windows updates, or anything that may be taking up significant resources on your computer
  • Disable ADBLOCK, or any similar extensions that are used to block scripts on a page. We do not have ads, it interfers with the player.

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR TEKSAVVY INTERNET USERS: We have added a server location for Teksavvy users, in the drop down on the top right - make sure you are connecting to "North America - East Canada".

How do I pause and rewind a live stream?

In a live stream, press the "Flash DVR" button to switch to a player that allows you to pause and rewind, with this method, you can start watching a live stream from the beginning no matter when you joined.

Change the location your stream is connecting to

If you are experiencing buffering issues, select another location that may have better routing to you.

Allow flash to store more data

You may be experiencing buffering or choppyness, this could be because you aren't allowing flash to store enough data coming in from our servers.

Right click the flash player and press "Settings", then move the slider to allow for more data.

Select your quality

To stream our feeds in HD, You msut have a sufficient internet connection. The feed comes in at 3200Kbps, You can check your internet connection using Speedtest.net. If you have less than 4000Kbps (4Mbit), You can force the stream to be SD (This only uses 800Kbps).

Disable PepperFlash (Chrome)

Type chrome://plugins/ in Chrome's address bar to disable the PepperFlash plugin

I see "Error Loading Player: No playable sources found"

This error message means that you don't have the latest Flash Player. If you are on a device that does not support Flash (iOS, Android, etc) - You must use the mobile website located at m.hockeystreams.com.

Playing outside of Flash

You can currently play a Flash stream in VLC. To do so, make sure you have the latest version of VLC.

Open VLC, Go to Media, press Open Network Stream.

Go to a Live or On-Demand stream (Flash), and get the Direct Link under the Flash player. (highlighted in red below)

Copy the direct link and paste it in to VLC, then press play.

If you are getting an error, please create an IP Exception and try again.
