The peak bitrate on the iStreams is 800k, on a small screen it should look as good as it looks on TV without any pixelation. You can do further testing on the preview feed. http://m.hockeystreams.com/preview

    Sanek said:
We're still testing everything out - Nothing you see with the iPhone streams right now is set in stone .

This is what we are doing between now and the middle of october which is our anticipated launch date for the service.

The stream also adapts to how much bandwidth you're able to push through. If it's pixelated it means it's not streaming at the highest bitrate (could be a few minutes for it to adjust).

Don't think the speed was an issue - I tested it on a 10Mbit Wifi connection that I normally use to watch the Premium Deluxe streams on. It could be that I did not give it enough time though - I only tested it for about a minute or two with 3G and maybe another couple of minutes with Wifi.
I just bought the Samsung Fascinate. Is there anyway to watch the games using the Android market? I would lose my mind if I could watch the games on my phone now!

I just subscribed to the Istreams with my iphone 4. Just wondering, will this work with the new airplay that will be coming out? (airplay button is pressed which allows it to be streamed to the new apple tv for viewing).

Second Question: Will istream users be able to access all of the archived games?

    Thanks.

We haven't tested it with airplay as of yet but theoretically it should work fine.

We are rebuilding the archives for iStream. You will be able to access the archives for all of the games that are iStreamed.

    Hope that answers your question

    Thanks

Thanks for getting back so quickly on my first questions. Another one for you. I went to watch some of the games today and only the canucks game is available on iStreams. Is there a reason for this? I read that iStreams would get all the games. Thanks.

I paid the iStream suscriptions for 1 day, so I could try streaming a game to my iPad at work. And it's horrible, there's an horrible deinterlacing effect that makes it downright painful to watch, and I'm on Wi-Fi.

I can understand this won't be an issue on the iPhone, but it's horrible on the iPad.

We forgot to turn on the de-interlacer. Should be fine if you restart the feed now.
