    Why isn't HD actually HD?
When they speak about HD anywhere else, its widecreen game thats very high definition, and you can see more of the ice/crowd.

This site claims to have HD games.. but the games showed are not REALLY hd.. they are high quality brodcast, only a bit up from normal... but they aren't high definition with more of the ice visible, ect.

And most games on Gamecenter I've been told ARE in actual HD... why isn't it on this site?

also, the site claims that HD feeds will be in roughtly 16:10 aspect ratio while lately a lot have been in almost square picture. wtf

Not sure why they're calling it HD - could just be a marketing thing.

The reason its not true HD is probably because of the bandwidth usage and server load - pure and simple. 720i/p (1280x720) and 1080i/p (1920x1080) are considered to be true HD. I believe the best I've seen here was 720x480 or 640x480 (not sure), which is 480i/p (SD).

I do think though that the resolution should be increased a bit for HD Plus streams...

Yeah, when I saw HD on gamecenter, it was significantly different. HD+ streams in here are fine, but HD and HQ are bad, especially HQ.

Yeah, but where else can you get such a great deal?????
I love this site, and its a hell of a lot better than forking over the $150+ payment for center ice. Its better than doing what I used to do, listen to the games on the radio

It's very simple, the source is HD, not the stream you're watching. Most people would not have the bandwidth to watch true HD games anyway.

And as far as the widescreen goes, it was never widescreen to begin with. At least none of the streams I watched were. Didn't you ever notice how the players looked like they were 4 foot nothing and 300 pounds? That's because 4:3 feeds were squished to 16:10, presumably so it would be fullscreen on widescreen monitors. But I think it makes much more sense to leave it how it was to begin with, and those with widescreen monitors can resize it if they choose. Proper aspect ratio always looks better than fullscreen.

tonight's source for the HD+plus LA/VAN game is nothing but a 4:3 stream from Indemand NHL Center Ice, they are not using the HD feed. Some of the Flyers CSN-Philadelphia archives I have seen are actually from an HD source b/c it is widescreen in WMP player

I also forgot that the CSN-Philadelphia was in fact a HD stream since the scoreticker that popped up during action shows the HD logo in the lower right area of the ticker.
